Terms of Service

What Magic Bean Travel Co.'s planning service includes, how we're compensated, and what you should expect from working together.

Magic Bean Travel Co.  ·  Rockford, IL

These terms describe the relationship between you (the client) and Magic Bean Travel Co., operated by Bonnie Nofsinger, a travel advisor affiliated with Magical Vacation Planner and based in Rockford, Illinois. By submitting a trip inquiry or working with us to plan and book travel, you agree to these terms.

Plain language version: I'm a one-person operation. I work hard to get your trip right. Here's what I can do for you, what I can't control, and what we each owe the other.

1. What the Service Includes

Magic Bean Travel Co. provides personalized vacation planning and booking services. Depending on your trip, services may include:

  • Destination research and recommendations tailored to your family's needs and budget
  • Resort, cruise line, ship, and cabin selection guidance
  • Package pricing and availability research
  • Booking of flights, hotel rooms, resort packages, cruise cabins, and tour packages through supplier systems
  • Dining reservation guidance and reminders (Disney and select resorts)
  • Lightning Lane and park strategy guidance (Disney)
  • Accessibility and special needs planning, including DAS guidance for Disney trips
  • Post-booking price monitoring and application of price drops where available
  • Pre-trip documentation and itinerary preparation
  • Support during your trip for booking-related issues

Services are provided for trips booked through Magic Bean Travel Co. We do not charge planning fees for standard trip types (Disney, cruises, all-inclusive resorts, European packages). A planning fee may apply for custom international itineraries or highly complex multi-destination trips requiring 15 or more hours of research and coordination. Any applicable fees are disclosed in writing before work begins.

2. How We're Compensated

For the vast majority of trips, Magic Bean Travel Co. is compensated through commissions paid by travel suppliers — cruise lines, resort brands, tour operators, and Disney — when bookings are completed. This commission is built into the supplier's standard pricing structure. You pay the same price you would pay booking directly through the supplier, and sometimes less due to package rates, group pricing, or promotions not available to individual bookers.

We do not receive commissions from third-party review sites, price comparison tools, or advertisers. Our recommendations are based on what we believe is the best fit for your family, not on which supplier pays more.

If a planning fee applies to your trip, we will tell you the amount before beginning any research or coordination work. You are never obligated to proceed.

3. Your Responsibilities

To plan your trip effectively, we need accurate information from you. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate names as they appear on government-issued ID for all travelers at time of booking
  • Disclose any accessibility needs, dietary restrictions, or health considerations relevant to destination or accommodation selection
  • Review all booking confirmations promptly and notify us of any errors within 24 hours
  • Respond to time-sensitive requests (such as payment deadlines or dining reservation windows) within the timeframe communicated
  • Ensure all travelers in your group hold valid passports or required travel documents for international travel — Magic Bean Travel Co. is not responsible for denied boarding or entry resulting from expired or missing documents
  • Inform us immediately if your travel dates, group size, or trip scope changes significantly after booking

4. Cancellations and Changes

Cancellation and change policies are set by individual travel suppliers — cruise lines, resorts, airlines, and tour operators — and vary significantly. Before booking, I will explain the specific cancellation terms that apply to your trip. You should understand these terms before confirming any booking.

General guidelines:

  • Non-refundable deposits — Many suppliers require an initial deposit that is non-refundable once paid. This is standard industry practice and is disclosed before you authorize a deposit.
  • Cancellation windows — Most suppliers impose penalty fees that increase as your departure date approaches. Full cancellation penalties (100% of trip cost) typically apply within 30–90 days of departure depending on the supplier.
  • Date and cabin changes — Changes to travel dates, room type, or cabin category may incur fees from the supplier and may affect pricing. I will advise you on the cost before making any change.
  • Name changes — Airline and cruise line name changes may incur fees or, in some cases, may not be permitted. Accuracy at time of booking is essential.

When you request a cancellation or change, I will contact the supplier on your behalf, advise you of any fees, and process the change once you authorize it. I do not charge a separate change or cancellation fee beyond what suppliers require.

5. Travel Insurance

Magic Bean Travel Co. strongly recommends travel insurance for all trips, particularly those involving significant upfront costs, international travel, or travelers with health considerations. I can provide information about travel protection options from suppliers or third-party providers and explain what different plans cover.

Purchasing travel insurance is your decision. Magic Bean Travel Co. is not an insurance provider and is not responsible for denied insurance claims or coverage gaps. If you decline travel insurance, that decision is acknowledged and documented.

6. Limitations of Our Service

Magic Bean Travel Co. acts as an agent for travel suppliers. We are not the airline, cruise line, resort, or tour operator. Accordingly:

  • We are not responsible for supplier-side service failures, including flight delays or cancellations, mechanical issues, resort closures, itinerary changes by cruise lines, or resort construction and renovation not disclosed at time of booking.
  • We are not responsible for force majeure events — weather, natural disasters, political instability, health emergencies, or government-imposed travel restrictions — that affect your trip.
  • Pricing quoted is subject to change until a booking is confirmed and deposit paid. We provide pricing in good faith based on current availability and will alert you to significant changes before you commit.
  • Destination entry requirements (passports, visas, health documentation) are your responsibility to verify and meet. We will remind you of known requirements, but requirements can change. Check official government sources close to your departure date.

When things go wrong during your trip, I will do everything in my power to help you — contacting suppliers, rebooking, escalating. But my ability to compel a supplier to act is limited to what the supplier's policies allow.

7. Supplier Terms and Pricing

All bookings are subject to the terms and conditions of the individual supplier (Disney, Royal Caribbean, resort brand, airline, tour operator, etc.). By authorizing a booking, you acknowledge that you are bound by the supplier's terms, which are made available to you before confirmation.

Prices and availability are not guaranteed until a booking is confirmed with payment. I will never book a trip without your explicit authorization and a clear summary of what you are paying for.

8. Communication and Response Times

Magic Bean Travel Co. is a one-person operation. I aim to respond to all inquiries within 24 hours on business days. For urgent trip-related issues during travel, I am reachable by phone and text at (815) 904-9755.

My typical business hours are Monday–Friday 9 a.m.–7 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.–6 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m.–2 p.m. Central Time. I do my best to respond to urgent travel-day issues outside these hours. Non-urgent inquiries received outside business hours are addressed the next business day.
