Epic Universe is Universal's newest theme park, which opened in 2025. It features five distinct worlds including the Ministry of Magic (Harry Potter), How to Train Your Dragon, and Classic Monsters. It's a full-day park that requires separate admission, and it significantly changes how many days a Universal Orlando trip needs to be.

It depends on your travel dates and tolerance for lines. On busy days (spring break, summer, holidays), Express Pass can cut wait times dramatically. On slower days, early arrival and strategic routing can work just as well. I'll give you a specific recommendation based on your dates — and whether staying on-site makes the Express Pass decision easier.

The Hard Rock Hotel, Portofino Bay Hotel, and Royal Pacific Resort (the Premier and Preferred tier hotels) include unlimited Express Pass for all registered guests. The lower-tier on-site hotels don't include it. I'll help you decide whether the hotel upgrade pays for itself based on your group size and travel dates.

With Epic Universe, most families need 4–5 days to cover all three parks without feeling rushed. Two days is no longer adequate for a thorough Universal experience. I'll build a day allocation based on your group's interests and which parks and rides matter most to you.

Yes — combining Disney and Universal in one trip is very common for Midwest families. Most families do Disney first (more booking windows and prep required), then Universal. Is Universal Orlando good for young children?

Universal has a strong lineup for young children — especially in the Wizarding World and the newer kids' areas. Epic Universe adds more family-friendly content. Some of the most popular rides (Velocicoaster, Jurassic World Coaster) have height requirements that exclude younger kids, but there's plenty for families with children of any age. I'll flag height requirements for your group before arrival.
